Remote ID Failure Before Flight

Your aircraft's Remote ID system fails its preflight check and will not broadcast. What must you do?

  • A.Take off, because Remote ID is optional equipment
  • B.Do not take off until the Remote ID problem is corrected
  • C.Take off only if the flight will be very short
Correct answer

B. Do not take off until the Remote ID problem is corrected

Why

An aircraft that is required to broadcast Remote ID may not begin a flight when the system is inoperative. Short flight time does not excuse a known preflight failure.
