Drug Impairment

A remote pilot is taking a legal medication that makes the pilot drowsy and slows reaction time. What is the correct action?

  • A.Operate as planned, because a legally obtained medication is never a concern
  • B.Do not operate while the medication impairs the pilot's faculties
  • C.Operate only if the flight lasts less than 10 minutes and stays over private land
Correct answer

B. Do not operate while the medication impairs the pilot's faculties

Why

A crewmember may not operate while under the influence of any drug that impairs faculties contrary to safety, even if the drug is legal. A short flight does not make an impaired operation acceptable.
