Structural Deformation

A motor arm is slightly bent after an incident, but the aircraft still powers on normally. What is the correct disposition?

  • A.Ground the aircraft until the deformed structure is repaired or replaced as directed by the manufacturer
  • B.Bend it back by hand and resume normal operations
  • C.Compensate by adding weight to the opposite arm
Correct answer

A. Ground the aircraft until the deformed structure is repaired or replaced as directed by the manufacturer

Why

Deformed structure changes thrust alignment and may be weakened even if electronics still work. Hand-straightening does not restore known strength, so manufacturer repair or replacement is required.
